Every week we sit down and try and choose a brilliant beer which we think well describes the week we’ve had.
What a week it has been, a busy start to July inside and outside of Beer52 HQ. Of course, this months FERMENT hit WHSmiths nationwide this issue takes aim at London. It looks great and has some wonderful contributed articles but it also contains one of the best competitions we’ve ever been able to offer. We’ve teamed up with the guys at Visit.Brussels to bring one of our lucky readers a chance to visit one of the beer capitals of Europe and you can read about how to enter here. With that in mind we thought we’d look at this great beer country and bring you one of our favourites from a great Belgian brewery.
We’ve come across all Belgian this week, but this weeks crown belongs to Triple/White. Within its foamy white head and golden colour, it achieves a rare balance of sweet and bitter, something which sets it apart as a truly great beer. A classic of the Trappist style, Chimay has been brewing since 1863, with the brewery having to be rebuilt in 1948 by the prominent beer boffin Jean DeClark. His fingerprints are all over their current recipes including this one, so the whole Chimay range is brewed with great history and knowledge. You can grab White and some of its Belgian brothers and sisters from our bottleshop here and don’t forget your Beer Of The Week discount by entering the code BELGIUM15 at checkout for 15% off all beer.
