Summer time is festival time. Whether its music, arts, or food and drink; we love nothing more than coming together and celebrating something that we love. Although a lot of the trade festivals are in the winter months, the summertime still holds some really great beer festivals that come in many shapes and sizes. They look to educate and showcase; from a pub showcasing great local breweries to events attended by thousands. We’ve compiled 4 of our favourites that we think are too good to miss in the coming months.
Great British Beer Festival – Olympia Exhibition Centre – London – 09/08 to 13/08
The Great British Beer Festival is organised by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and offers visitors over 900 real ales, ciders, perries and international beers. One of the largest beer festivals in the UK being attended by over 55,000 people last year, it looks to educate and introduce those attendees to best real ale the UK has to offer and boasts some brilliant imports from Europe and America to widen any palate. If you’re in London then we’d recommend heading along to this one and trying out some greats from the US bar!
London Craft Beer Festival – Oval Space – London – 12/08 to 14/08
Back for a fourth year, the London Craft Beer Festival ethos is to showcase only the best independent breweries and help them bring their best beers, all to be accompanied by great music and amazing food. Bringing a host of brilliant British brews this year also is dashed with a Scandinavian influence bringing the likes of To Ol and Ebeltoft Gaardbryggeri to visitors. One not to miss this August.
Bristol Craft Beer Festival – Motion Skate Park – Bristol – 02/09 to 03/08
As part of the wider Bristol Beer Week and brought to you by the same people behind the London Craft Beer Festival. This is the first time this festival will grace Bristol, but with the experience and talent behind it, its a sure to be success. In a really cool venue, in the past hosting BBC Radio 6 events, its selling out fast so get your tickets soon.
All In Beer Festival – Quality Hotel 11 – Gothenburg – 04/11 to 05/11
Our first overseas entry is the All In Beer Festival held in Gothenburg every November. All In is a brewery from the west coast of Sweden and this trade show brings together the world of beer and also gives the stage to some of the best Nordic beers on offer. A great atmosphere that pulsates with love of the industry, one of the best events for networking with European breweries. If you’re in the area, book your tickets.
So, there’s four festivals we recommend over the coming months and there are plenty more in your local pubs and bars in between. Organise a road trip with friends and get some learning done and if you’re heading to Sweden then make sure you don’t miss All In – it’s brilliant.
